If you're a big fan of Arashi (or any other Johnny's band) and is seriously learning Japanese, there's this site called EDUFIRE. They teach Japanese for as low as $10/hour and group classes go for about $5/hour. That's seriously affordable and low compared to the calibre of the Japanese tutors on there. Not to mention that the Edufire community is friendly and awesome.

I'm also a tutor on Edufire, but I teach English, Tagalog, and GRE Prep. Anyhoo, Edufire is a fun place to learn Japanese (or any other language you can think of + exam preps like SAT, ACT, GRE, etc).

Okay, now back to watching my Oh-chan and listening to his angelic voice. LOL.

Japanese Garden

My family and I went to a nearby park earlier today and we chose to go to the Japanese Garden section for a picnic. Anyhoo, I snapped this pic--the whole time I was in la-la-land dreaming that Ohno and I are in a date--and really, sincerely wished that I was with Arashi~ Sigh.

I talked to the man I like earlier and even though I know he has a girlfriend, I still like him. And I’m liking him even more since he’s so nice and cute…. GAAAAAH! I don’t like this at all. Don't worry, I'm not putting any moves on him. I'm a woman so I should know better. I don't want other women hovering around my man either. I should stay away, ne?

Does this mean I got the DoS and DoM blood from Jun already?

First Arashi Dream

After being a fan of Arashi for years and years.... I had my first Arashi dream. You know how you dream about the things you last heard of or worried hard about? Surprisingly, Arashi wasn't my main focus yesterday. So my dream means extra special to me. Then again, I'm sorta, kinda brokenhearted since I just found out that the guy I like has a girlfriend already--so maybe my heart and brain's subconscious way of compensating for my sadness is to give me an Arashi dream? Wow... my body is catching up.

Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Anyhoo, can't tell you the entire dream because, as Cinderella's wisdom goes, "if I tell you, it won't come true."

Sigh.

So... did you dream of Arashi today? LOL.

So... I went to get some facial hair (a.k.a. mustache) waxed today... After the waxing, she whipped out tweezers to pick off some stray hairs...

She was picking here and there and all was well. Until she got near my lip. Which hurt a great deal. After a couple of pulls (when it became obvious that she won't be done soon), I told her that IT HURTS.

She looked at me unapologetically, chuckled, and said "MORE."

Gah. No tip. Joudan desu.

But I'm glad that was over. I'm fuzz free again for two weeks or more... ah, the pain just to look a tad better.

P.S. Tomorrow, I'm headed for the bath house. For $15, I can stay there the whole day, use any of their three saunas and three pools (two hot, one ice cold). Yay!

Ohisashiburi!

After finishing my 20-day medical fast, I've decided that I should live a healthier life. With the idea from my mom, I decided to be a vegetarian. A lacto-ovo vegetarian to be exact (meaning I still eat dairy and eggs--just no meat at all). After feeling like a zombie for eating figs and prunes for a day, I've had it!

I'm hungry... so I just threw some stuff together... my sister's left over shell pastas (about half a cup) + a little tomato sauce + button mushrooms + shredded cheese. Heated it up.

Yummy!

I feel human again coz I'm eating carbs... LOL.

I don't remember how I first found out about Kare Kano and what me decide to read it. But two or three years back, I decided to buy volumes 1 to 19 and read it. I loved it. I was big fan. But Volumes 20 and 21 were not yet released back then so I had to stop reading for a while.

Who would have thought that it would take me another three years before I wold finish the series. I went to the mall earlier and visited the oh-so-familiar ANIME POWER store. I looked at the manga stacks and saw Kare Kano volumes 1 to 10 -- I remembered about the last volumes I haven't read but then I was disappointed because it wasn't there. I'm glad I looked at the other side and saw volumes 11 to 21. Actually I thought there was only one more volume after 19 but boy was I glad to find the final volumes of my beloved manga series.

After reading the last two volumes, all the "memories" from the last 19 volumes just came back to me. The fact that the manga is also finished and that it took me three years before I actually finished it (I mean, you would suppose that I would've forgotten all about it or at least my attachment would be gone--that's what I thought too!), I was surprised that I felt sad. I will miss the characters. They were real for me. They were like my friends. Sort of like how I feel that the actors on TV and their characters are real too...

Maybe you can say that I see my friends in the characters. Ever since I moved to America, every time I would try and think about the fond memories I have back home, I always, always, always think about my high school days [High school life, oh my school days, oh my high school kay saya~ LOL]. My friends, the memories...

America is a good place but I've been sad for the past six years because I didn't really have any friends. I knew some people but I didn't know anyone well. Nobody told me their story and I had no one to tell my own.

So I'm moving to Taiwan soon [that's the news. LOL. Such a long, windy intro] for a teaching job and I guess I see it as a new start. I'm not expecting the Taiwanese to make me their best friend but I think that it's a chance for me to start anew. Just leave behind the not-so-happy memories here in America and work harder to be happy. Nobody knows me in Taiwan so it's more or less a clean slate. I'm not expecting for everything to be all good either. It's just that I have high hopes that I can find myself there and if I'm lucky, a friend too.
